Basketball Recap: James F. Byrnes Makes It Five in a Row at Home

James F. Byrnes had won four straight home games and Colt Fowler did his part to make it five on Tuesday. The James F. Byrnes Rebels strolled past the Daniel Lions with points to spare, taking the game 84-65 thanks in part to Fowler, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 assists. That's the most points he has posted since back in January.

Jamari Cullen was another key player, going 9 of 15 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game.

When it comes to explaining why Daniel lost, don't look at Jackson Conley. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 14 on his way to 17 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Smith, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds.

James F. Byrnes' victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Daniel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

James F. Byrnes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 88-75 win against J.L. Mann on the 18th. As for Daniel, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West-Oak at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
