Volleyball Recap: Celina Takes a Loss

If Celina was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Elida on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell 2-0 to the Fairbanks Panthers on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Sidney Jenkins paced Celina's offense, picking up nine kills. Jenkins got some help from Haley Kizer and her 16 assists. Natalie Carlin controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Celina has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Fairbanks, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-1.

Celina didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Marion Local on the 27th. As for Fairbanks, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Bellmont on the 27th.
