Baseball Game Preview: Samuell Spartans vs. Adams Cougars

Samuell hasn't had much luck against Adams recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Samuell has given up an average of 14.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Samuell is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They lost 20-0 to Poteet.

Meanwhile, Adams entered their tilt with North Mesquite on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Stallions with a sharp 12-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly ten runs.

Diego Wong was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

He is becoming a predictor of Adams' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Adams pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Samuell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
