Soccer Game Preview: Westview vs. Henry County

Westview is 1-6 against Henry County since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Chargers will host the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Westview sitting on five straight victories and Henry County on seven.

On Monday, Westview had just enough and edged out Obion County 5-4. That's two games straight that Westview have won by just one goal.

They hit Obion County with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Leonardo Gado (2), Jack Mantooth, Miguel Berrocal, and Kevin Cates.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Henry County made sure to put some goals up on the board against Kenwood on Tuesday. They blew past the Knights 4-1. Henry County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Westview's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those seven games. As for Henry County, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Westview beat Henry County 3-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
