Volleyball Recap: Neuse Charter Takes a Loss

Neuse Charter lost against Research Triangle back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Raptors.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Research Triangle scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 25-21.

McKenzie Ward paced Neuse Charter's offense, picking up nine kills. Ward got some help from Mikayla Leonard and her seven assists. Sloane Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Research Triangle found their leader in sophomore Kat Liquorie, who had nine digs and two aces.

Neuse Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Research Triangle, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

Neuse Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against East Wake Academy on the 6th. As for Research Triangle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Triangle Math & Science on the 6th.
