Baseball Recap: Bishop Moore Comes Up Short

Bishop Moore fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Winter Park on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 12-8 to the Wildcats. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Nate Davis put in work no matter where he played. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (two). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Tyler Lomas and Danny Garcia stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lomas went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Garcia scored a run while going 2-for-4. Kai Lwin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Even though they lost, Bishop Moore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Bishop Moore's record is now 14-5. As for Winter Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Bishop Moore wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Titusville on the 31st. As for Winter Park, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-2 win against Lakeland Christian on the 31st.
