Newark Catholic won the last time they faced Lakewood and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Green Wave were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lancers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Green Wave.

While Newark Catholic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-14, 26-24.

Leah Caudill paced Newark Catholic's offense, picking up 15 kills. Caudill got some help from Natalie Harrington and her 22 assists. Sydney Gummer controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Lakewood still got an impressive performance from Josie Lynch, who had 24 assists and ten digs. Lynch has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 12 times she's played.

Newark Catholic's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lakewood, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Newark Catholic will take on rival Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lakewood is set to face off against their familiar foe Granville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
