Volleyball Recap: Fairfax Takes a Loss

Fairfax was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Buckeye Hawks, falling 3-0. If the Stampede were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Hawks when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Fairfax took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-13, 25-14.

Amadu Mulbah paced Fairfax's offense, picking up four kills. Mulbah got some help from Phillip Wade and his four assists.

Among those leading the charge was Erick Rivera, who had 14 digs and three assists. He has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last four times he's played.

Fairfax's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Buckeye, they pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Fairfax wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Alhambra on the 21st. As for Buckeye, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Glendale on the 22nd.
