Volleyball Recap: Mercer Island Victorious + How To Watch

Mercer Island proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Inglemoor Vikings 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Islanders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Mercer Island got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-10.

Sydney Parcel went supernova, getting 26 digs and three aces. What's more, she posted two assists, the most she's had since back in September of 2024.

Parcel wasn't the only good server: Mercer Island was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Inglemoor only served five aces.

Mercer Island's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Inglemoor, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Mercer Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Mount Si on the 16th. As for Inglemoor, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Cedarcrest on the 16th.
