Football Game Preview: Perryville Mustangs vs. Paris Eagles

The Perryville Mustangs will square off against the Paris Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Things were looking good for Perryville after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 14-13 to Danville. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although Perryville took the loss, they still got scores from Jesse Judy and Tanner Frith.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paris). They breezed past Cutter-Morning Star to the tune of 38-7 on Friday. Considering Paris has won four games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Paris' win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.3 points on average over those games. As for Perryville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Perryville against Paris in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-10 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
