Baseball Game Preview: Edwards County Lions vs. Flora Wolves

The Edwards County Lions will take on the Flora Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

On Thursday, Edwards County made easy work of Eldorado and carried off an 11-1 win. Considering the Lions have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Hensley made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Cash Conner was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Evan Rhodes was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Edwards County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eldorado only posted an OBP of .292.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Flora sidestepped Hamilton County for a 6-5 victory.

Flora's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Edwards County, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
