Volleyball Recap: Hastings' Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Hastings came into Saturday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Alliance Bulldogs 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since September 28, 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (66-64) Hastings actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-20, 25-21.

Kaisley Tillemans paced Hastings' offense, picking up 12 kills. Tillemans got some help from Lily Sorgenfrei and her 23 assists.

Hastings' win bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Alliance, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

Hastings has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against North Platte on the 27th. As for Alliance, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Lexington on the 27th.
