Volleyball Recap: Seven Rivers Christian Extends Winning Streak to Three

Seven Rivers Christian waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Citrus Hurricanes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (101-94) Seven Rivers Christian actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-20, 14-25, 14-25, 15-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seven Rivers Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karis Lauranzon, who had 17 digs.

Seven Rivers Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in six consecutive matchups.

Seven Rivers Christian's record now sits at 16-8. As for Citrus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season.

Seven Rivers Christian and Citrus are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against Hernando Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Citrus, they will welcome Hudson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
