Basketball Recap: White Starts off Right with Win over Bishop Dunne

White had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Bishop Dunne Falcons by a score of 63-54 on Friday. The Longhorns have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameron Simon, who posted 16 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Simon's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Smith, who put up ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Bishop Dunne's loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

White didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-60 defeat against Ryan on the 15th. As for Bishop Dunne, they will be playing at home against V.R. Eaton at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
