Preview: MacArthur Generals vs. Spring Lions
MacArthur is 2-8 against Spring since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The MacArthur Generals will head out on the road to challenge the Spring Lions at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
MacArthur's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 51-37 fall against Dekaney. While losing is never fun, MacArthur can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1044th, while Dekaney is ranked 475th).
Meanwhile, Spring's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Benjamin Davis.
Elijah Pittman put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrell Payton, who scored ten points.
MacArthur bumped their record down to 3-21 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Spring, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.
MacArthur was able to grind out a solid win over Spring in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 69-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for MacArthur since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
