Recap: Heritage Academy vs. Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Heritage Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 57-50 victory over Wabasha-Kellogg.
Despite the loss, Wabasha-Kellogg still got an impressive performance from Ileana DeAngel, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. The match was DeAngel's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brielle Adams, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Wabasha-Kellogg were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 35 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Heritage Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Heritage Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wabasha-Kellogg will head out on the road to face off against Spring Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Grove presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wabasha-Kellogg in Minnesota (Spring Grove is ranked 105th, while Wabasha-Kellogg is ranked 329th).
