Recap: Futures Knights vs. Forest Lake Christian Falcons
The Futures Knights stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 80-40 win over Forest Lake Christian on the road. Winning may never get old, but Futures sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Leading Futures to victory were Deonta Dorrough and Keylen Garth. Dorrough scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Garth scored 20 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Garth is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sam Bains, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Forest Lake Christian still got an impressive performance from Caleb Fenton, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Futures' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for Forest Lake Christian, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Futures will take on Delta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Lucas Keller and Garth. As for Forest Lake Christian, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
