Smyrna put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the LaVergne Wolverines get on the board and left with a 23-0 victory. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 8.6 runs per game.
Kylah Lowe made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Lowe was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Smyrna let Sara Quintal and Talia Paredes run wild. Quintal scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Paredes went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave Quintal a new career-high. Charleigh Bailliez also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Smyrna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive games.
Smyrna's record now sits at 5-0. As for LaVergne, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
