Basketball Recap: Randolph-Macon Academy extends road winning streak to eight

Basketball Recap: Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets vs. Trinity Christian Gryphons

Even though the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets have not done well against the Trinity Christian Gryphons recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Randolph-Macon Academy pulled ahead with a 45-44 photo finish over the Gryphons. Winning may never get old, but Randolph-Macon Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Leading Randolph-Macon Academy to victory were Chidera George and Bilal Kebbay. George dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds, while Kebbay scored 20 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. George is crushing the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Doku, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Randolph-Macon Academy pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Randolph-Macon Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. As for Trinity Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairfax HomeSchool presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Gryphons in Virginia (the Hawks are ranked 105th, while the Gryphons are ranked 227th).
