Fredericksburg has gone a perfect 3-0 against Rouse recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Fredericksburg Billies will square off against the Rouse Raiders at 10:00 a.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.
Fredericksburg's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Bandera 15-0. Considering the Billies have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ava Stuewe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other pitching news, Makenna Duecker looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low.
Back at the plate, Larryn Feuge was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brindle Wolfe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, Rouse hadn't done well against Leander recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Rouse was the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Leander.
The win made it two in a row for Fredericksburg and bumps their season record up to 9-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for Rouse, they now have a winning record of 8-7-2.
Fredericksburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Rouse in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Will Fredericksburg repeat their success, or does Rouse have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
