Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Urijah Deocampo and Taray Irving Lead River Islands to Victory

On Tuesday, the River Islands Riptide made easy work of the Millennium Falcons and carried off a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17, 25-12.

River Islands was led to victory by Taray Irving and Urijah DeOcampo. Irving had 12 digs and one assist, while DeOcampo had 19 assists and three digs. DeOcampo is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. Kaleb Dela Cruz also deserves some recognition as he had his first kills of the season.

River Islands' victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Millennium, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, River Islands will host Tokay at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. River Islands is facing Tokay at the right time seeing as Tokay is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Millennium, they will head out to take on Aspire Langston Hughes Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
