Baseball Recap: Notre Dame Takes a Loss

Notre Dame couldn't beat Hand on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Green Knights fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6. The Green Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 10-3.

Nate Marczak made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Notre Dame: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was John Paul Malafronte, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Hand, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-8 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will venture away from home to face off against Wilbur Cross at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hand, they will take on Amity Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
