Basketball Recap: Westlake Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from James Leach and Caleb Nieze

Westlake Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 61-49 to the Kenosha Christian Life Eagles. Westlake Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kenosha Christian Life apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Westlake Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Caleb Nieze, who went 8 of 14 en route to 17 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, and James Leach, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds gave Leach a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Johno Ledr, who posted four points and four steals.

Westlake Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Kenosha Christian Life, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-8.

Westlake Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-40 victory against Mooseheart on the 6th. Kenosha Christian Life has also already played their next contest (against Catholic Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
