Volleyball Recap: Masconomet Regional Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Masconomet Regional had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Danvers Falcons with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

While Masconomet Regional won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-17.

Masconomet Regional's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lidia Benedetto led the charge by getting 20 digs. That's the most digs Benedetto has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nora Sterner, who had 11 assists and four digs.

Masconomet Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in 13 consecutive contests.

Masconomet Regional's record now sits at 10-6. As for Danvers, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-14.

Masconomet Regional has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Billerica Memorial on the 20th. As for Danvers, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Dennis-Yarmouth Regional on the 17th.
