Baseball Game Preview: Cayuga Wildcats vs. Wortham Bulldogs

The Cayuga Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Wortham Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Cayuga and 16 for Wortham dating back to last season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Cayuga took on Kerens on Friday. The Wildcats lost 9-3 to the Bobcats.

Cayuga saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cash Conner, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Wortham fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against LaPoynor on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 8-6. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring contest to date.

Wortham's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Cayuga, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Everything went Cayuga's way against Wortham in their previous matchup back in March, as Cayuga made off with a 13-1 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
