De La Salle is 9-1 against Foothill since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
De La Salle is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Petaluma a 15-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
Roman Bartosh tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Antonio Castro was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alec Blair, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
De La Salle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Foothill's hitters rose to the challenge against a Panthers pitching crew that boasted an average of only four runs allowed on Friday. The Falcons blew past Benicia 10-4. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by exactly six runs.
The team relied heavily on Landon Comerford, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. George Schmitt was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
De La Salle pushed their record up to 24-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Foothill, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. De La Salle has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Foothill struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
