Basketball Recap: North Star Continues Road Dominance on Friday

North Star had won six straight road games dating back to last season and Andy Retassie did his part to make it seven on Friday. The North Star Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings 60-25 thanks in part to Retassie, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. Those seven steals gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Smith, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

North Star has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Shanksville Stonycreek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Star will take on Meyersdale at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shanksville Stonycreek, they will head out to take on Windber at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
