Basketball Game Preview: Bedford Buccaneers vs. Shawsheen Valley Tech Rams

Having just played yesterday, the Bedford Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Shawsheen Valley Tech Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bedford has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with ten straight defeats, while Shawsheen Valley Tech will come in with four straight victories.

Bedford came up short against Concord-Carlisle on Thursday, falling 68-42. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Patriots are ranked 114th).

Meanwhile, Shawsheen Valley Tech humbled Whittier RVT with a 78-37 victory.

Shawsheen Valley Tech pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points over those games. As for Bedford, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Bedford didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Shawsheen Valley Tech when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bedford since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
