Softball Game Preview: Lakeside Lancers vs. Buena Park Coyotes

The Lakeside Lancers will challenge the Buena Park Coyotes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lakeside is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Lakeside didn't have quite enough to beat Citrus Hill and fell 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Lancers have lost by just one run.

Michaela Alverado and Savana Swick did some serious damage despite the final result: Alverado went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Swick went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That double marked the first that Alverado hit this season. Another player making a difference was Reese Fisher, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Buena Park came up short against Valencia on Wednesday and fell 5-2.

Buena Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Buena Park's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
