Basketball Recap: Metropolitan Learning Center Takes a Loss

Metropolitan Learning Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-35 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Phoenix. The Dragons lost against the Phoenix in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 68-38 score last time.

Metropolitan Learning Center's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy, with the victory, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-7.

Metropolitan Learning Center will head out to square off against Capital Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Metropolitan Learning Center is facing Capital Prep at the right time seeing as Capital Prep is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy, they will take on Achievement First at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy has lost four straight at home (dating back to last season) and Achievement First three straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
