Basketball Recap: Reagan Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Reagan won the last time they faced Clark, and Matt Velasquez did his part to make sure it happened again. The Reagan Rattlers strolled past the Clark Cougars with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 53-39 thanks in part to Velasquez, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 15 points and seven assists. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games.

Another player making a difference was Christian Kelley, who posted two points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Clark lost, don't look at Kristian Burgan. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 6 en route to 11 points and seven boards. Jaden Flemons was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Reagan is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Clark, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7.

Reagan will welcome Brandeis at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Brandeis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.2 points per game this season. As for Clark, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Clark Cougars take on the Johnson Jaguars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Johnson is coming into the game with four straight victories at home, so Clark will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
