Baseball Recap: Santa Fe South Takes a Loss

Santa Fe South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-5 to the Lutheran Lions. While the Saints didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 4-0 in the first period.

Santa Fe South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Diego Rodriguez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Rodriguez also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Santa Fe South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Fe South will head out to square off against Ponca City at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Santa Fe South has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Chaparral at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
