Basketball Recap: Mylee Roberts Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pope County

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton hadn't done well against Pope County recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton took down the Pope County Pirates 45-29. This was a revenge game for Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton: when they faced off against Pope County last Tuesday, they had to take a 56-48 defeat.

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mylee Roberts, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Maci Caraway was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.

Roberts wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pope County only posted one assist.

Pope County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bella Fasolo, who had nine points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kenna Welter, who put up six points and seven boards.
