Basketball Recap: Valley Regional Comes Up Short

Valley Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 87-43 loss at the hands of the Haddam-Killingworth Cougars. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.

Despite the loss, Valley Regional saw an underclassman step up: freshman Braden Evans posted 14 points and eight boards. Cody Saunders was another key player, putting up eight points.

Valley Regional now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Regional will head out to face off against Coginchaug Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hale Ray at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
