On Thursday, Smyrna faced Polytech in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Smyrna Eagles were the clear victor by a 68-46 margin over the Polytech Panthers. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Polytech lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tatiana Trader, who posted seven points and 11 rebounds. Trader is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marie Cadet, who earned seven points and three steals.

The win (which was Smyrna's fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.2 points. As for Polytech, they moved to 16-2 with that loss, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smyrna and Milford will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Polytech, they will head out to square off against Cape Henlopen at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
