Football Game Preview: Gar-Field Red Wolves vs. Woodbridge Vikings + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Marcus Troy Hamlin and Caleb Tucker are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Gar-Field Red Wolves will face off against the Woodbridge Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Gar-Field is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Patriot just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers.

Gar-Field might have lost, but man, Warren Freeman was a machine: he rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.

Meanwhile, Woodbridge had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 47-6. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Panthers are ranked 240th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gar-Field better focus on containing James Shaw III and Marquece Sharpe as the pair were huge in Woodbridge's win. Shaw III picked up 143 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Sharpe gained 107 total yards. What's more, Shaw III posted two receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August.

Woodbridge didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Potomac Senior to a completion percentage of just 37%. The Vikings weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 61.3%.

Woodbridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Justice Gordon and Yaw Osei-Abey.

Gar-Field's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Woodbridge, their record is now 8-1.

Gar-Field lost to Woodbridge on the road by a decisive 22-7 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sharpe, who rushed for 175 yards and two scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Now that the Red Wolves know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
