Basketball Game Preview: Barr-Reeve Vikings vs. Loogootee Lions

The Barr-Reeve Vikings will face off against the Loogootee Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Barr-Reeve is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Washington Catholic 76-12. The victory was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on three straight.

Barr-Reeve got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Miller out in front who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Pauw, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Loogootee posted their biggest victory since February 13, 2024 on Wednesday. They blew past Vincennes Rivet, posting a 62-35 win.

Barr-Reeve's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Loogootee, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Barr-Reeve beat Loogootee 44-33 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will Barr-Reeve repeat their success, or does Loogootee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
