Basketball Recap: Mac Defazio Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Jersey Shore

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shamokin Area, Selinsgrove was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They strolled past the Jersey Shore Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 66-51. This was a revenge game for the Seals: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in December of 2024, they had to take a 61-60 defeat.

Selinsgrove's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mac Defazio, who posted 17 points. Those 17 points gave Defazio a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Xaivier Jackson, who earned 22 points.

Selinsgrove's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Jersey Shore, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

The future could be bright for both Selinsgrove and Jersey Shore: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Selinsgrove will try to hand Midd-West their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Jersey Shore will look to extend Central Mountain's three-game losing streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
