Softball Recap: Fruitland Takes a Loss

Fruitland entered their match against La Grande on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Grizzlies came up short against the Tigers, falling 16-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 12-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

Fruitland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Fruitland's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for La Grande, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

While Fruitland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
