Baseball Game Preview: Nicolet Knights vs. Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes

The Nicolet Knights will head out to challenge the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Nicolet had taken Slinger down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Knights fell just short of the Owls by a score of 4-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 3, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Jack Stuck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hayden Konczal was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Fox, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Whitefish Bay made easy work of Homestead on Monday and carried off an 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Blue Dukes, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Whitefish Bay is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Nicolet, they dropped their record down to 8-14 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
