Providence had won five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 11-4 to make it six. They put the hurt on the Rio Hondo Prep Kares with a sharp 14-7 win. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Kares recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Madelynn Watts made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two runs.
