Football Recap: Jaydis Wiley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bayshore over Gibbs + How To Watch

Bayshore was the 18-16 winner over Gibbs when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bruins took a 23-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gladiators on Friday. Despite 117 more yards than the Gladiators, the Bruins couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Bayshore lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jaydis Wiley, who threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. He is becoming a predictor of Bayshore's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is 3-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Jayden Gibson was Wiley's top target, picking up 152 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Mario McCant and Steven Alexis. McCant rushed for 38 yards and two TDs while Alexis rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing touchdowns McCant has posted since back in August.

Bayshore now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Gibbs, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 3-6 record.

Coming up, Bayshore will head out to face off against Lakewood Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gibbs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hollins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gladiators will be up against the Royals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
