Softball Recap: Parkview Christian Academy Falcons vs. Somonauk Bobcats

Parkview Christian Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They suffered a rough 24-0 defeat at the hands of the Somonauk Bobcats on Friday.

For Somonauk's part, Kaydence Eade was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Eade was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Haley McCoy was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, two triples, and three runs. Brooke Bahrey was another key contributor, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Somonauk made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkview Christian Academy will challenge Kankakee Trinity Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Somonauk, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Aurora Central Catholic at 11:00 a.m. Aurora Central Catholic will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Somonauk surely won't give up without a fight.
