Recap: Susan Moore Bulldogs vs. Pennington Tigers

The Susan Moore Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 21 points or more this season. They breezed by Pennington on the road to the tune of 55-24. Given Susan Moore's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Pennington is ranked 201st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Lani Smallwood, who scored 24 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. The game was her 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallorie Holland, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The victory was the third in a row for Susan Moore, bringing their record for this year to 17-4. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44.67 points. As for Pennington, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Susan Moore will challenge Vinemont at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Vinemont knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Susan Moore likes a good challenge. As for Pennington, they will head out on the road to face off against Brindlee Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Brindlee Mountain is on a four-game streak of home losses, Pennington a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
