Preview: St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs vs. Palo Alto Vikings

The St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs will be playing at home against the Palo Alto Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Vincent de Paul will be looking to keep their 14-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.

With a playoff game on the line, St. Vincent de Paul rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Pride 48-12 on the road. St. Vincent de Paul might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

St. Vincent de Paul found their leader in underclassman Gabe Casanovas, who rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes. Mason Caturegli was another key contributor, rushing for 130 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.

Palo Alto aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Saturday extended their overall winning streak to five. They slipped by Mountain View 34-33. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Jason Auzenne had a dynamite game for Palo Alto, picking up 166 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Auzenne's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Madrigal, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown.

St. Vincent de Paul is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Palo Alto, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
