There's no place like home for Purcell, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Little Axe Indians a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Boston Knowles was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2. Purcell is 7-1 when Knowles posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Purcell got a big performance out of Casey Billingsley, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Billingsley has become a key player for the Dragons: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Deaken Dobbins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Purcell's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Little Axe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Purcell is taking a road trip to square off against Pauls Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Little Axe, they will take on Star-Spencer at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
