Basketball Game Preview: Gull Lake Blue Devils vs. Central Bearcats

The Gull Lake Blue Devils will take on the Central Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Gull Lake came up short against Lakeshore and fell 48-37. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Lancers are ranked 60th).

Meanwhile, Central came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Mustangs as they made off with a 55-35 win. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Gull Lake's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Gull Lake lost to Central on the road by a decisive 46-29 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Gull Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
