Basketball Recap: BASIS Skates Past Richard Wright Public Charter School with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask BASIS). They claimed a resounding 79-45 victory over the Richard Wright Public Charter School Spartans. The Red Giants haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

BASIS was led to victory by Timothy Chamberlain II and Dylan Smith. Chamberlain II dropped a double-double with 28 points and 12 boards, while Smith shot 64% from the field en route to 23 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. With that strong performance, Chamberlain II is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Jayson Parker, who posted nine points and three steals.

BASIS smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The victory got BASIS back to even at 3-3. As for Richard Wright Public Charter School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

BASIS and Sojourner Truth Montessori will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richard Wright Public Charter School will take on Capital City Public Charter School in a holiday battle at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will be up against the EAGLES' rather soft defense (which has allowed 69.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
