Football Recap: Calvary Christian Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Calvary Christian rose to the challenge on Friday. They snuck past the Santa Fe Raiders with a 34-30 win. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Raiders are ranked 208th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lane Roberts produced another solid performance rushing for 247 yards and two scores while picking up 14.5 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Oni Abasial, who threw for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Calvary Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 324 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 211 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dantre Little, who rushed for 82 yards and three TDs, and also threw for 95 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Jasiah Powell helped out on the ground, rushing for 129 yards.

Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points over those games. As for Santa Fe, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Calvary Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 34-33 loss against Cocoa on the 21st. Santa Fe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
