Softball Game Preview: Deer Valley Wolverines vs. Pittsburg Pirates

Deer Valley is on a six-game streak of home losses, and Pittsburg an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Deer Valley Wolverines will host the Pittsburg Pirates at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Deer Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Antioch on Thursday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 12-1.

Deer Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rosalyn Zermeno, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Pittsburg fell victim to Liberty and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 16-0 to the Lions.

Deer Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Pittsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Deer Valley suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Pittsburg when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
